    Removing Apps with DM

I tried to remove slacker from my pearl with the DM (4.7 on an xp machine) and it wouldn't let me select it. I easily deleted it from my pearl from options. I don't remember if i got slacker OTA or not. My question is, is it common for OTA apps to not be removable by DM? First post here, as you all have been excdellent and I have found all other issues i had solved somewhere else in the stacks. Thanks

Easiest way is to go to options on your device-advanced options-applications-scroll down to the app you want to delete-hit enter (BB) button and delete. You will then need to reboot the device to delete it completely.

That's really the only way I've deleted apps. Never had any issues.

^^^ What they said. This is the fastest, easiest way to remove apps from the device.

Of course that is the easiest way. That is what I did. I am curious as to why DM wouldn't let me select the app for deletion with the app manager.

That I can't answer. If I were @ a computer I'd try something, but I honestly use DM only about once a month, so I can't go from memory.

I know you can have issues installing apps/themes if you don't have the os installed on your computer. Could be it, but just a guess.

Not sure, kamehanu. I had 4.7 for awhile and didn't like it so reverted to 4.6. I don't remember what options you had in 4.7 as far as the Application Loader portion is concerned.

In 4.6, if you go into Application Loader>Add / Remove Applications, the application list would load up on the lefthand side and you could scroll down, select an application and add or remove it that way. Not sure why you weren't able to do it this way.

Besides backups I try not to use the DM either. I know that 4.7 had issues with Vista, so I wondered if any "fixes" RIM made for that affected my XP machine. But then again I have had minor issues with DM 4.7 since i started using it.

Yes rogro it was very odd. I would put the cursor on the app check box, click the window would go grey and it would comeback still checked. Slacker was the only thing in the list that behaved in that manner, so maybe it was the app. thanks for the help

Well if I were you, I'd uninstall 4.7 and get 4.6 instead until they come out with a more reliable 4.7.

I found my answer and hope this helps someone else. Part of the slacker app had been saved on my media card so I couldn't access it from app loader.
