    refurbished phone-safe or not

The trackball on my Pearl went & verizon is shipping me a "new refurbished" phone (pretty funny). I am a bit concerned in not getting a new phone-only 2 months old.
The verizon rep stated that all refurbished models go through testing were 1 in 15 new phones are tested & I should be safer with a refurb.

Any thoughts--please put my mind at ease.

    I WOULD NOT EXCEPT THAT!!

If your phone is only 2 months old, getting it replaced for a "Refurbished Phone" is not acceptable, its like buying a brand new car, and having to trade it in for one that's been wrecked and painted.....NO WAY!!

Call Verizon and complain...that's what I would do

Well I don't think it would be too bad of an idea. You can't really complain I guess. All you could do is if something happends to this one you just hold it against them that it wouldn't have happened if they shipped you a new one

I dont think there is anything you can do about it. I had a similar issue with my EnV and I got a referb. I argued it for a week.

A lot of companies do this.
I don't agree with the practice, but if they are testing the unit and will still honor the full warranty there isn't much you can do.

What do you mean the trackball went out? IF it's just the matter of cleaning your trackball then you don't even need to get rid of your phone. You can just clean your trackball.
Directions here if needed: TRACKBALL CLEANING

Refurbs are fine I know it's not the same as a new phone but the work just the same.

U did remove and clean trackball. I called Verizon and spoke to a supervisor who agreed on a new phone. Thanks for the advice.

This happened to me TWICE (I'm on my 3rd Pearl). I don't trust refurbed units either. If this one goes out I'm asking them to send me a BRAND NEW 88xx LOL
