    Red(not read) messages?

So I just had a conversation with someone and the sound was level one which I thought meant it was a BB conversation. However, the messages only showed up in my SMS folder not my BB messenger folder. They definately werent texts because of the header. These also showed up in the color red. What gives?

    hopefully this helps.
BB messenger message is within the BB messenger application (sorta like using IM online - you see sent and received, one after the other)

PIN messaging is sent and received very similar to the way you would send a text/SMS message.

not sure about the whole "red" thing...

Don't confuse BlackBerry Messenger with PIN messages!

By default, PIN messages are level 1, or rather, high importance. The 4.2 OS on the Pearl colours these level 1 messages red, I suppose to make them stand out in the message list from non-level 1 messages.

If you don't want PIN messages to be level 1 messages, go to the Messages app --> Options --> General Options --> change the field "Make PIN messages level 1" from "yes" to "no".

And because PIN messages have subject lines, and not limited in length or characters, they should be considered as email, rather than SMS. SMS has a limited character set; one cannot type a ® or a © into an SMS, but those characters are available in PIN and email messages. SMS is also limited to 160 characters per message, and though the BlackBerry can concatenate messages automatically for SMS, a PIN message does not have such a limitation.

Wahahaha thanks for the clarification Lewis! I didn't know level 1 meant of high importance, lol. No wonder it was red.
