    Red blinking light - wont switch on

    My 8100 has suddenly gone off, red light blinks 3 times then 2 times and then does this repeatedly.

    BB wont switch on and will not be recognised by my PC.

    Help please,

    Thanks for the prompt replies - I had tried this before posting but it didnt work.

    When I go to Connection settings I dont get USB Pin as as option even if I select Detect - no device is detected.

    Not sure what my next step is.

    Tony, do you also get an error (JVM) code on your screen?

    This happened to me a few nights ago but I was finally able to restore my BB.

    No - nothing on screen at all - screen is blank (dark).

    Try the process a few times. You need to make sure you follow the directions exactly. It may take a few tries.

    Tried several times - have also tried the javaloader.exe but it also says unable to open port and fails.

    at a loss as to what to do next.....

    Tonymul, this happened to me 2 months ago. I called T-mobile and there's nothing you can do but send it in for a replacement. I was actually reloading the OS when my computer froze up (had too many windows open & was surfing the net ~ won't do that again). The phone never recovered. Sorry to break it to you.

    Latest update - my provider, Vodafone have indicated they will replace the BB.
