No. As far as I know you can't disable this feature. You'll just have to work around this by deleting the capitalized letter and retyping it. But hey! Who wants to be grammatically and structurally incorrect in their messages? Not I.

Neither do I, what is the need for not capitalizing the first letter anyhow? You can also end a sentence by double-tapping the space key...~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I wish it would capitalize the first letter in emails but not in txt messages; sometimes I just want to type "iight" but it ends up looking like "light"

It's probably aight by more people here too, I just got into a habit of typing iight because I'm lazy and rather press "i" twice than "a" and then "i"

HolidayDre, If you're REALLY lazy you could set your autotext to where you can simply hit i twice then space and it'll automatically replace ii with iight.

To do this compose a new text msg, hit the menu button, scroll down to and click on "edit autotext", press the menu button and select "new", under "replace" type ii, under "with" type iight (be sure to type it in lowercase since you want it to appear that way), where it says "using" select "specified case" that way the word will always be exactly as its typed under the "with" section, press the menu button and select save.

Thanks, I always heard about the autotext but never really looked into it.
