    Quick Battery Question....

I bought a new battery for my phone cause my old one was damaged. When I connect my phone to put it to charge, a red battery pops up with a stripe and does not charge.

    Suggestions??

I believe the handset is telling you it's the wrong battery. Did you buy equivalent, OEM or "similar"?

If I understand what you are saying then all this means is that the battery is dead. Let it charge for a few hours and then see what happens. It may not look like it is charging but give it a little time and i think you will be good.

Lightning bolt usually means it's charging

Babygirl.. it could also mean that the battery is not contacting the pins properly. I've heard people say to put a piece of folded paper under the battery to make it seat in the phone better. Not sure if that is the case here. My daughter's phone had a similar issue and it was a pin not connecting on the battery so it would charge...$60 dollars later and a new battery and cleaned contacts.

I'm no expert so I couldn't tell you. Common sense would say to make sure you are using the proper battery for your device.

Is it just common sense though? Does the average BB user understand the digital signatures in the different batteries? A battery without the correct signature will not work and it is my belief that it will exhibit the symbol of a battery with a line through it. I honestly don't believe it is just dead batteries.

The C-S2 did not power up my back up 8100. The C-S1 powered it up but I see the battery icon with the red line through it.

The CS series was originally in use for the 71xx series of devices.

I forgot about the big bulky C-H1 extended battery that also only works with the 71xx series.
