It is as far as the new options, But I have to be honest, most people that are used to the full key board realy hate the 81XX series. Make sure you test drive one for a bit. True they cost less, but if you hate typing on it it wont be as fun.

The 8120 is perfect for it's size, it takes a couple of days to get use to the keyboard. But apart from that go for it.

    All the best

Yes and no. You have the option for multi tap, or the option for suretype (starts to spell the word for you). Best part of suretype is it learns from you not from a dictionary built into the phone. (although on the 8120 i believe it does have a dictionary built in as well) Hope it helps.

Two things to consider. Do you type a lot? And is the smaller screen an issue?

I went from a QWERTY keyboard on a 7520 (admittedly a huge device) to an 8100 and yes, it took some getting used to but over time became my favorite. Loved the size, vibrant screen, and camera on board.

I will say it was a difficult decision when I went to the 8320 - I wanted the wifi/uma features and had the 8120 launched a bit sooner that may well have been my choice.

The function of all BB devices 4.2 OS and higher are all comparable, with a few differences between models. 8120 will give you all the functions the 8700 has plus a 2.0 MP camera, video record, wifi, spell check built in, hot swappable memory card slot, etc.
