    Question Problems Upgrading to 4.5

I've been trying to upgrade my Pearl 8100 to 4.5 for a few days now. I have downloaded and installed the file for it and deleted the vendor file. I have the newest desktop manager version and I have uninstalled any previous versions on my computer. I plug in my phone and open the desktop manager and it looks for updates then says there are none. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Check to see if the vendor.xml is back. Seems that if you select auto update when installing Dm then it replaces the vendor.xmlwhen you connect your device.

^^^ Yes, what the Cowboy said, but it might not be in the "usual" place. Do a search of all files, including hidden files to see if you find it.

Try going to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and run the apploader

Did you install the OS on the PC? (I'm sure you did)

    Try this: My computer/c drive/program files/common files/research in motion/app loader/loader.

Double click the loader and see if it can load the OS. I rolled back my OS today and the DTM wouldn't do it although i used a program to wipe the BB but the app loader sure did.
    Device history: 8100 > 8320 > 8900 & 9530. Keep crackin'

    Yes, nice tip, Tyler!

Do the search, partsguy. I'll bet there's another vendor.xml file out there some where. Just make sure you search the "hidden" files, too.
