    Hello,
Like I said this might be a silly question but bear with me I am a new user.
So, I am on Rogers and do not have a data plan. Can I only surf the web from my phone with a data plan? There...that's my silly question. haha.

that is correct. you'll need a data plan for the internet and emails and such...but you can SMS and MMS without the data plan.

Sorry, but the answer is yes, web browsing requires a BB data plan. Some carriers have a portal for their own content which is accessible without the plan (dont know about Rogers) but it is generally very limited.

I just got my pearl from Telus. They offer unlimited browsing, chat, GPS etc for $15 per month.

See if Rogers has something similar.

GPS for the 8100? How can I go about doing that? I realize you said Telus offers it, but does the phone have to be capable of GPS? Like I said I'm still learning about this phone and don't know much about it. If there is a specific forum or thread that can help me, just point me that way. Thanks!

No that user has an 8130 which includes a GPS, but the 8100 does not. We all learned the same way so don't feel silly by asking. As for the best forum/thread you are in it. Just browse all around here, great information. When you come to a question let us know.
