    Private Or Unblocked Calls

I'm curious i've set in the call options to hide my id for all outgoing calls.

but one could unblock a call for one call only...

for example all calls blocked unless i input *82 or whatever the code is to unblock for that specific call...

what i want to do it add someone to my address book but add the code to unblock my number so it always happens when i call this person.

possible or not with the blackberry? and how? i've done it with other mobiles but doesn't seem to work with this device.

yeah, just had *82 to their entry (add a pause to be sure) then number. I have added *67 to this one girl's entry because she's a crazy b.. chick.

    Re: Private Or Unblocked Calls

I've tried the following variations to no avail.

*82w(area code)(xxx xxxx) nothing happens the call just ends no message nothing.

*82p(area code)(xxx xxxx) nothing happens like above

*82(area code)(xxx xxxx) message from carrier call can't be completed

*82+(country code)(area code)(xxx xxxx) message from carrier call can't be completed

    *67(area code)(xxx xxxx) works flawlessly....

    don't get it.... do you...?

stupid question but what does *67 and *82 do again? It allows the person you're calling to see your number or allows them not to see your number?

    Re: Private Or Unblocked Calls

I've just had someone else try the same method *82(area code)(xxx xxxx) using the same carrier but a different mobile phone.

Without success, they get the carrier telling them the call cannot be completed.

Which tells me the issue is carrier specific.

Rogers Wireless is the carrier... I've escalated the issue to the IT department for review.

    Any other ideas stackers...

problem is i have 800 contacts 200 of them with *67 added and the rest with *82

and now none of the *82 work and i think all of you would agree with how ****ing time consuming the thought of updating all 600 contacts to work without *82....

i need a life saver right about now...

well i figure since this is carrier specific i don't really have a choice...

what i've done now is show my caller id for all calls and *67 for certain people....

i've commenced the unwanted task of editing 600 phone book entries....
