Is there anyway you can set a folder in your media files as private?

For example, i want to set my ringtone folder so that the only way you can look inside it is by entering a password

so you are saying you want to upload some porn in a locked folder that can only be opened with a password?

    Re: Private folders?

Just hide your porn in a folder on your microSD card. Then go to media, hit the menu button, choose explore, and then find your hidden porn folder

I'm pretty sure you would have to protect the whole MicroSD card.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Private folders?

I've been wishing for this as well as a way to password protect my BB messenger. No not because I have porn or because I'm doing something wrong but because I have caught my 8 year old niece playing with my phone and I don't want to have to hide my phone. This kid is freaky smart and would find hidden folders too. I took her to the cingular store and she showed the manager how to use the camera on a phone that NONE of them could figure out. And that was two years ago. Freaky freaky smart.

Also, is anybody else irritated that people imply you are doing something wrong or have porn just because you want to keep some things private? Hmmm

    Re: Private folders?

i dont know of any way to only password protect certain apps on your phone, i wish there was a way to do it, i think youll just have to password protect your whole phone (options>security options>general settings)

and is there a way to protect your whole micro sd card? i dont have one yet so i havent really put much thought into it... but it would be cool to password protect just that, i think i might go pick one up tonight...

    thanks

oh and as far as being offended, i cant really say anything because chances are at some point there will be something inappropriate on my sd card... sorry... im in college...

    Re: Private folders?

I'm sure it was all in jest - no harm or offense was meant-

I, too, am still waiting for this "oh so needed" option to protect a pic, an email, a doc/file, heck even a whole folder.I don't know why we've moved away from such practices..... Hmmm on the other hand .... I really don't let my Pearl stray too far away from me for too long anyways, if at all- but still it would a nice option to have!!

    Re: Private folders?

Just found this via Sandisk's website. Secure mirco sd card:
    http://www.buy.com/prod/sandisk-1gb-...202636815.html

This seems like a decent deal and it says the whole card can be secured
