    Post your Camera settings

I have seen a lot of stackers posting pics. I have seen some great quality also.
So I ask, post your settings that you have for your camera, and what you have done to make your pics better.
    Here are mine
    My settings are,
Flash- on, than I turn it off as needed.
    White balance- automatic
    Pic size- large
Quality- I have on normal, every time I use fine it makes my pics crap.
When outside I use cloudy white balance sometimes, works well.
Feel Free to post any pics you want also.

Nice pic. That's interesting that you get best quality from 'Normal'. I use Large size and have tried Quality settings of Normal, Fine and Superfine. Can't see much difference at all - or when I do see a difference it probably has more to do with hand shake.

    Anyone else?

Daughter and I in a canoe @ Mission Bay, CA:

At The Coves in La Jolla, CA:

Petco Park, San Diego, CA before the Padre game:

    Re: Post your Camera settings

This was with the flash settings on auto and the white balance on auto.
My pics are far better with no flash unless it is very very dark!

    That dog is funny.
This is a pic of my bro building a damn to catch fish. He got sick of nothing else working so he tried the old school way.
No flash and medium size. Auto white balance.

I was first fussing with these cameras on Palm's first PDA/camera the Palm Zire (0.3 mpxls!)
    From a photographer stand-point :

    1. Shoot on overcast days or in the shade. You are essentially giving it similar lighting conditions throughout the whole image. You don't want bright bright light competing with dark dark corners or else you'll "blow out" your image.

1a. If you do shoot in bright daylight, shoot with the sun to your back.

    2. Shoot bright colors.

    3. Shoot cute things. Screw up your photo as you may, somehow none cares when it's a yawning kitten.

Yes good point. Use sun light to aide you with additional artificial lighting if possible ie: Room light swtiched on and face subject with your back turned to sunlight coming through room window.

Nice pics and advice that is exactly what I am after!
You are right I have noticed that all my good pics are usually taken outside, natural lighting.
