Question Possibly using Pearl as mp3 player through Aux jack

    Hellow -- newbie here......

Thanks for the tips re: the packaged CD bad. Followed your steps on upgrading OS and DT Manager and for the moment, everything is working perfectly!!!

I have a question ---- I have an auxillary jack on the front of my stereo in my car. Bought a cable that would plug into the Pearl and into the jack. Want to know if I could use my Pearl as a MP3 player in the car. However, when I hook the two --- the sound just plays from the speaker on the phone. When I put the corded handsfree in the Pearl, I can hear the music through the earpiece. Is there a way to make the music play through my car stereo through this aux jack? Thank you!!

does the connector look like the connector on the headphones you got with phone? i mean, how many seperated silver pieces do you see on each?

I want to say there are two black bands total on the connector, but the connector is out in the car. (I think there are 3 black bands on the supplied BB headphones, correct?) If this helps, I purchased at RadioShack.

    THANK YOU!!

My tech in house uses the siedio adapter and shoots himself for not ordering the one with the mic (then he can use his car system as a speakerphone). He uses it with no issues at all and sound quality is beautiful.

what type of radio do you have in your vehicle? is it stock or an after market? if its an after market there are cables you can buy that could make it work. i have a new pioneer deck in my truck and i have a usb cable hangin out in my glove box so i just connect my usb that came with the BB to that and to the phone and control thru my radio with the remote. let me know what you have and i might be able to give you some suggestions for ya, this is my job i do this all day at Best Buy, so i might be able to help you out.

Re: Possibly using Pearl as mp3 player through Aux jack

It's just a stock stereo in a Dodge Caliber. My center console SUCKS (i.e., NO ROOM) for holding anything. There is just this AUX jack on the front of the stock stereo. I have ordered the adapter from Seidiko(sp?) and it's on the way. I also ordered a black back with the speakerphone cut-out. I have loaded about 50 songs onto my phone on a 2 gig card. Still have 1.7 gigs left to go. Waiting to load more when/if this adapter works!!!!!

    Waiting patiently...........

Question Re: Possibly using Pearl as mp3 player through Aux jack

Just received my Seidio adapter for my Pearl (w/out mic). Hooked it up to my Auxillary jack on my car stereo. It will play my songs from my phone, but only from the left side driver speakers. Anyway to make it play through all car speakers? Thanks.........

Re: Possibly using Pearl as mp3 player through Aux jack

the issue is that the adapter isn't stereo so you only get mono sound coming out of your BB...only way to do it would be to clone the sound and put it through the right side but you don't have the technology in your car to do that so unfortunately there isn't anything you can do...short of what guyheaven said which is more practical anyways since 1 CD with 1000mp3s on it is easier to carry than 1 BB with only 100 songs but no more memory space...hope this helps

Re: Possibly using Pearl as mp3 player through Aux jack

My tech's unit is putting out stereo sound on his Pearl using the Seidio adapter without the mic. You may want to try it out on a different stereo and confirm that it is only putting out mono. If it is mono, I would contact Seidio about it.
