Possible to record a sound and use as ringtone on the Pearl?

I tried but could not find a way to record a sound using the phone then apply it as a ring tone. Any way this can be done? Looking for an engine(sports car) sound as a ringer. Thanks.

Get Multiplay. You can record any sound, put it into your ringtones folder and then set it as your Phone Tune.

    OTA: http://www.dollars5.com/OTA/multiPlay.jad
    Desktop Manager: http://www.dollars5.com/downloads/bl.../multiPlay.zip

    Hope that helps

You could also use VR+ if you like. It saves the files in you music folder so you can set them as mp3s.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ok I don't know how multiplay works? I tried saving a new playlist and I named it and it still says "sample" why? I mean the songs are in there but when I saved it the second time but the name of the playlist is still "sample playlist"? Help? im me. It looks like it has great potential. Also I recorded something and when I click on it it doesn't do anything? I'm confused.

there is a funny way that i used be4...you can simply use msn messenger on your computer, first select a buddy of yours, and use your microphone and press F2 on your keyboard, record what you wanna say..and save it down on your computer and send it to your bb via the DM, say sorry to your buddy for that wrong voicenote that you sent him/her....it's lame...but it works just well!!!

I'm just guessing here, but I'll bet that VR+'s native audio file format is not recognizalbe as a ring tone. The website for VR+ says something about the audio files being automatically reformatted to *.mp3 on the PC...

So I was thinking that you might try to record a sound on the BB and e-mail it to yourself, then send the *.mp3 back to the BB via USB or e-mail. Maybe that will make the file format recognizable.

Please let me know if that works.
