    Hi guys,

    My pearl just shutdown and wont power back up again. I cannot get the computer to recognoze it. The LED flashes red 3 times than 2 times, and it does this forever. I have tried the method on these forums to try and make itt detect but no go. Also tried JL_CMDER. nothing seems to be able to detect the device. Returning it probably isnt an option since i bought it on ebay (tmo device) and I'm in Canada.

    Any Suggetsions?

    are you sure your usb cable is good?

    yah pretty sure, I have tried 2 of them, all of the USB ports, I have yet to try another computer.

    If I do not have a battery in and connect the USB than the LED blinks which tells me its reciving power through USB, but computer accts like nothing is plugged in.

    just tried JavaLoader as well and it just sais Error:Unable to open port.

    i think this device is gone

    Well thank you for trying to help me, that method has worked before for me but now nothing seems to work, and I just got the device. Really sucks but what can you do.

    Did you call CSR? It should still be under warranty... especially by the manufacturer... I would send it back if I were you

    You think I should call RIM? I got the device of ebay, and I cant call T-Mobile about it since I'm in Canada.

    The blinking tells me to take out the battery for ~1 minute and HOLD the power button down the whole time. This will drain the charge from the unit and allow it to reset


    That has helped when nothing else will.

    I am assuming you are an admin an that machine.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Before you go through all that trouble, I'd try another computer. If the ports are not high speed it won't make the connection. How old is your computer?

    I don't know if this is the same for the BBs because my 8100 has never gone completely dead, but i know my when my old Moto died the computer wouldn't recognize it and therefore wouldn't charge it, i would have to use a regular wall or car charger to juice it up a little before i connected it to my PC.

    Again i don't know if it works the same way for Berrys, and I'm sure you've already thought of that, but i figured it was worth a shot
