Question PLEASE HELP?! Battery dying, no e-mails... etc...

Two days ago I noticed my phone hardly holds a charge. It used to go for a day or more. I also noticed I stopped receiving e-mails automatically. While doing simple things the phone freezes up, it can't keep up with my text messaging and it freezes up a lot during Brick Breaker. Another thing I have noticed is that the timer icon/hour glass will randomly pop up!

It's so frusterating having to keep charging my phone and not being able to text correctly...

The only thing I have done to my phone is added Opera mini soon after I got the phone and Facebook app a couple of weeks ago. The facebook app seemed to have stopped working as well, it doesn't let me know when I have updates anymore.

Please tell me how to clear up my phone or what I should do... this phone is only a few months old! I have an 8110 through AT&T.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

    Welcome to PinStack, emtkt!

Sorry to hear about the woes with your Pearl.

Have you checked your device memory lately?

Go to Options>Status and see what the reading for File Free is.

I also just tried to go into the e-mail set up and it keeps failing... it has never done that before.

Have you tried pulling the battery to do a hard reset?

Yes... at least two or three times. I noticed it takes away a lot of battery to start it back up then.

How old is your device? Do you ever power it down? Could just be you need a new battery.

i can't remember exactly when i got this... i think it was in august? it's not very old. i don't turn it off much but it gets charged almost every night. how would a bad battery (when it's full for the moment) effect my e-mail, slowing everything up, and just generally sucking at speed???

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Sounds like a defective device. You should check into getting a replacement.

    I was afraid of that.

Can you tell me way to clear up the device or return it to default?

I don't have my device hand, but I believe the sequence is Options>Security Options>General Options>BB menu button>Wipe Handheld.

If you decide to do this and get a replacement, do a backup so you can load your new device with your contacts, etc.

Ok... thanks for your help. Hopefully I don't have to spend the money on a new device... I really liked the BB but not if this happens...

This type of thing is the exception, not the norm, but lemons do happen. Hopefully you'll get your replacement soon and you'll be back up and running.
