Hello Andy and Welcome to the Stacks. Have you tried a battery pull (take out battery with BB on, wait 30 seconds and then reinsert battery)?
Just got my new Pearl but currently have a few issues with it.
As soon as i go to make a call, enter a few numbers, the device will freeze and reset itself, leaving me back at the menu 20 seconds later.
Any ideas if theres a fix or firmware upgrade? Searched the Blackberry site but its pretty much useless for new stuff i think.

what OS version are you running on your Pearl? every carrier that is selling the pearl has issued an 'upgrade', respectively. upgrading will hopefully fix this issue you are having.

I've not got the pearl with me but had just thought a reset and re-send of the service books may sort it. Just I thought I'd seen posts of problems with the phone on the pearl a few days ago when i was searching for something else.
I'll check the OS as well. It was bought Sim free from an O2 shop and is using the old O2 sim from my working 7290.
Any ideas on how about getting the upgrades/updates for the phone if its bought like this? I'll take a quick search of their site and probably give them a call in the morning.
ok, tried the hard reset this morning and still the same problem.
Have just tried updating the software but its currently seems stuck at the 'Wait for device Initiliazation' stage. Currently been there for around 20-30mins.
Should i disconnect/reconnect the cable/blackberry? Would i be able to restart the upgrade on the phone? Or does it just generally take a long time to upgrade?
typical... as soon as i clicked submit it kicks in and completes.
i'll update when i've activated and tested
still no luck it seems, device resets/reinitializes at will it seems, even after a 2nd update.
Looks as though its a back to the shop jobby!
