OK, I know, I know....The Pearl went through the washing machine! What do I do now and will it still work after some time to dry out? Any hope for this one?

    Thanks in advance!

your best bet would be to file a lost claim with your insurance dont report the water damage unless you have the coverage

It just might. Very doubtful though. You might as well just take it a part and let it dry.

    Best of luck to ya.

All I can say is take the battery out and keep the cover off. Do not try to turn it on. You are gunna have to wait it out and pray.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Well from your profile, your carrier is T-mobile. If you have insurance, you can claim it as water damaged then pay the $110 deductible (I believe its still that amount for the Pearl) and you will get a new one in the mail. You will have to go through Asurion tho.

Was the phone ON when it was getting tidy clean? you gotta think that if it was on and then just swooshing in all that water and soap just saturating all of the inside components I think no matter how long you let it dry with the battery out its not gonna come back. I hope I'm wrong but I think its safe to assume that its gone.

The sooner the battery gets pulled out the better your chances of recovery. A hair dryer is also a BIG help, especially if you don't mind taking the case apart. If it gives you problems, check out the forums at www nokiafree org , there is a tutorial there on bringing a water damaged phone back to life, but TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!
    I really hopes this helps...

Take the phone apart and put the unit itself in a zip-lock bag half-filled with white rice. That's right, rice. Let it sit there for a day. Open the bag, change the rice out as necessary. The rice will absorb the moisture thereby drying your Pearl out. Once it's completely dry, pop in the battery and pray. If it doesn't work, look toward putting in an insurance claim for water damage.

Warranty is gone now. But you can fix it I'm sure. Just don't turn it on and be patient.
Wash it with some rubbing alcohol, don't worry its just to get the water out and don't worry to put too much. The bake it at the lowest temperature your oven has, lower than 100 if you can. Let it dry that way for some time and your pearl should be back fresh and clean.
Ps. This is how I got my brother's phone back from the grave.

It may be because I'm REALLY lucky, but every phone I've had that got wet didn't break. It stopped working for that day, but the next day it would be okay.

Dumbest one I did was when I went to the beach, I clipped my phone to my waist after I got out of the water. Then I went to the showers to rinse myself, and I left the phone on during the whole time. Didn't
