Or you can turn off your data services setting to off when near one of these things. You won't be able to receive any data services when this is set to off but you can turn it back on whenever you are done using whatever it is you are using. You can do this by going to options>network, and then changing "Data Services" to off.

    Hope this helps,

I have Data Services turned off and occasionally if my phone is too close to a speaker it still cuases a nasty squelch.

Its just the way it is with most phones near most electronic devices like speakers and stuff. It aint bad or anything it does get a little annoying sometimes lol. God thing about it is I hear that noice in the speaker even before I get a txt mess so I know in advance that in a few sec I'll get an sms or a phone call lol

My wife just about blew up when the alarm clock went all staticie (sp?) in the middle of the night.

I have my Pearl right next to my work phone and I dont get this issue. Could it be that my work phone works off a CAT5?

Yeah, it's kinda embarassing when, during the day at work, my speakers give off a sound like a huge computer fart. People always turn around and stare.

If I keep my phone on the other side of my desk, away from my speakers, it doesn't affect them. At least, not as loud.

It's the damn GSM radio, it interferes with everything. And yes, this never seems to happen with CDMA devices.

Yeah, if you're with Sprint or Verizon you won't have any problem with these sounds. With Cingular though? Cingular in particular is a bitch with these sounds. Not sure about T-mobile. But I know Cingular is one of the worsts. Nothing really to fix that, sorry buddy. Us Cingularians just have to deal with it. =/
