I am currently suffering with low battery life and poor signals with my T-mo USA .64 OS and was hoping for suggestions/a link to a much improved OS - I do not want to lose any functionality (T-Zones, service book issues, etc.)...Thanks

    Here's the TIM Italy 4.2 OS http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...y_8100_os.html

Here's the Telstra 4.2 OS. Click the dropdown menu and select the 8100 Pearl. https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...149E92A551338E

I would go with the Telstra OS because it fixes a few issues with the TIM Italy OS. I love both of them though.

A little less buggy is the Cingular .71 or .73 OS.

But Erica's suggestions are good too.

    Re: Pearl OS

The OSs are device specific, so you pearl will keep all your TMO stuff.
I'm using Cingular .73 on TMO so everything will work. It should improve battery life. Signal is not tied to your OS.

The 1.66 had some OZ messenger issues. Not sure if there was a fix.

Just remember to delete the vendor.xml file

Can you tell me how to install this please - including deleting the vendor file?

    Re: Pearl OS

    Download the OS you want.
Install that OS to your PC.
    Delete the Vendor.xml file
    Located here:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader delete vendor.xml file

    Then Plug in your BB.
    It should prompt you.

You may want to Backup before you do this, just in case. Better safe than sorry. It will Backup as it installs, but I just like to make sure. Post here again if you have any more questions.
