Pearl does not understand the numbers in my address book

I've been waiting what feels like an eternity for the Pearl to come to Sweden, and I finally got it yesterday!

Now for my problem: Our phone system requires us to dial an extra 0 to get out from the internal system. When someone calls me, that extra 0 is included in the number aswell. (0070-1234567 instead of 070-1234567)

Instead of dialing the 0, I've been using +46, which used to work like a charm, and it also works when I'm not in Sweden. All my numbers are saved as +4670-1234567, so when someone calls as 0070-1234567, the Pearl does not understand it's the same number.

Is there some way to make the Pearl understand they are the same, or do I have to go through all my numbers changing them to have a leading 0 instead of +46? If so, anyone knows a good way to do that in Outlook?

    Hi mate,

I had this problem too.. was really annoying until I worked out that if your number is stored both on the SIM and on the Phone internal memory then it doesn't recogise numbers :

    e.g.: 079 and +4479 etc.

I cleared all the number on the SIM - if they're on the phone you can have multiple numbers per entry, and if your contacts are backup'd on your PC then you don't need them on your SIM (unless you're changing phones etc).

Once I took all the numbers off, the Pearl recognises numbers properly.

Give that a go and let us know - but that solved my problem.

Actually I may have misunderstood you - you have an extra leading zero rather than the normal In-country dialing code vs full international format... so my suggestion may not help you... sorry.

Sounds like there's an option in the call log for that. In a pbx system (do they still call it that? ) you dial 9 to get an outside line. There may be a workaround for this.

I've gone through the call log, and there might be something I can do in "Smart Dialing", but I don't really know what...
Anyhow, I spent 5 minutes changing all the leading +46 to 00, so everything is working fine now.
    Thank you!

Re: Pearl does not understand the numbers in my address book

Maybe changing all numbers wasn't so good as I thought.
My MMS/SMS message center is only using numbers with country code, so any incoming messages will not be connected to an address book entry.

    To sum it up:
    Address book number: 00733-425226
When receiving call: 00733-425226 (same as entered, so it will work)
Receiving message: +46733-425226 (not the same, will not work)

Calling and messaging works fine when using +46. When I use the leading 0, it works fine, except MMS.

Simply, I really do need a way to tell the phone that a leading 0 is the same thing as +46.

You may go to "Call Log"... then press the menu button and choose "Options"... "Smart Dialing"... for country code... put +46...

You can then change back all your "00" into +46 in your address book...

Yeah, that's already set up. Works fine at all times, except when I get an incoming call. The Pearl seems confused about the extra 0 in the beginning...
