.PDF's and media card... no good?

    Hello, all.

I emailed a simple PDF to my BB Pearl, and it opened up, no prob.

When I tried to put a PDF onto the phone via the BB desktop manager (or mass storage mode), I cannot open the PDF. Isn't there another way to load up PDF's besides Emailing them to myself? I have large (10-15 mb) PDF's, and emailing them to the BB is not convenient.

    TIA, gang.

Is it bad form to "bump" this message?

Not really extremely bad, but I wouldn't do it too often or too soon. The rule of thumb I use is If it's still on the first page of the forum with the default settings, don't bump.

Copy. I think it's a big question, though, and one that I cannot find an answer to. Strange!

Dunno...I will try later...If you are storing it on the SD Card, you may have to connect the SD card to your computer VIA usb, open the Blackberry Folder, and where the subfolders are, maybe create a new folder and drop it into there? Dunno...I haven't tried it but just a thought.

tried it by allowing BB to be seen as Mass Storage Class. I can get into the folders, create new folders, etc.

They just wont open outside of the email software (i.e. attachments).

I have not checked for the Pearl, but on all my old phones there were third party apps that allowed me to open and view PDF documents on my phones. I have to go back and check. Has not been a priority.

Until then, I am not aware that the Pearl comes with any standalone programs to do any "MS Office" type functions.

If you are attempting to simply use the Pearl's MicroSD chip to transport PDF files, what I do is open the chip via Windows Explorer and put the files directly on that "drive" [meaning not a sub folder]. So far has worked fine, I am able to connect to any computer with the USB cable and the Pearl opens up as a drive.

By the way, transferring files via the "drive connection" is much faster than doing it through Desktop Manager.

P.s. Why are your PDF docs so large? We use PDF a lot in court filings and 300 pages might get into the 2MB range. Yours must contain a lot of graphics?

Bonus Tip: I have Adobe Professional so I check their site often. They are supposedly coming out with a mobile version of the program, meaning for use with devices like the Pearl.
