C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder, highlight the file vendor.xml and press the delete key.

im so sick of this phone lag on this tmo pearl. i hate it. i almost threw my phone across the room yesterday. it lags for like 5 seconds and people keep saying hello, hello? and hang up before the call lag is gone. its SO annoying someone please help me, send me the file with the vendor.xml file already deleted and ready so i can install it. i was about to sell this phone because of that lag. i lost so many important calls because of this

when i do this, and get to the research in motion folder, when i open it, there is no "app loader" folder, all i see is a blackberry folder.

^^ bbpearlrox - if you looked there and you cannot find the file, then you have not successfully installed the OS onto your PC. make sure also that you have rebooted your PC after the installation.

after installation/reboot of PC and deletion of xml file, you plug in BB and launch desktop manager...if all went well, then the app loader will automatically detect a new OS...good luck, let us know

make sure you follow the path closely to find the vendor file. I couldn't find it at first either because I was just skimming. Make sure you are going to the common files folder then RIM. That's where I was screwing myself up anyway. Let us know how it turns out!
