Hi all, does anyone know if orange uk has stopped supporting the 8100 pearl as they seem to be the only carrier not to release a os upgrade.

You can get the latest OS upgrades here for any device:

Do you need instruction for doing the upgrade?

No think I can figure it out, just an enquiry. And wanted confirmation that other carriers can be used. Cheers for the reply though.

You bet. Just be sure to get the OS for your device and delete the vendor file before you install to your handset.

(Sorry, I've been out of town and had to go get my dog from the sitter before rush hour traffic.) Here are some instructions:

The "vendor.xml" file is located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader - this file is to be deleted after downloading the OS to you p-c and BEFORE installing using Desktop Mgr.

It wouldn't hurt to backup your handset using the DM before starting all this. A thread discussing all this is at:

    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...lackberry.html

Ignore the versions mentioned in that thread as they may not be current.

    Hope that help.
