    opera weirdness

    Hey, all,

Opera started to freak on me today: had v.3.0 for about a month, working fine til this morning when:

-part of the screen started blanking out (white) when scrolling

-link text goes black when passed over

-menu ([!] key) is completely blacked out, as is status/clock bar at bottom of screen

I've tried multiple battery pulls & replaced v.3.0 with v.3.1, but the problem persists.

Also, my BB Browser won't boot up from its icon anymore, but it will from links in the MediaNet browser.

All of this'd be fine if the MN browser didn't, y'know, suck.

And just when I was starting to remember the bookmark keys in Opera! Sigh...

    Any help would be appreciated.

wow.. it sounds like you blackberry is pooping itself. there are two things that seem to always fix BB problems.

    -battery pull

    -wipe

you've tried the battery pull so I'd suggest trying to wipe next. delete 3.0/3.1 (whichever version), then make sure to run a backup so you don't lose any of your important info (contacts, emails, etc.).

Thanks, BN. When you say wipe, do you mean just the app,or the entire 8100?

    I've had the same problem.
Just download opera onto your pc as a zip file.
Use the desktop manager to update the current opera.
Your bookmarks and settings remain in memory.

Before you wipe the entire device, try removing Opera from your BB (options/advanced/applications/Opera/Delete) then do a battery pull reset and try loading again.
