    not sure if possible...

I've opened apps to find they have been running in the background (I forgot to close them). Is there a key combination that will close any/all programs I may have left running?

    Thanks all,
    Steve

there are certain programs that you cannot close, I believe they are mail, phone, internet, and, if you have it installed, blackberry messenger. do you have other programs open?

I've noticed that I have returned to web pages, 3rd party games, and google map directions. They are just like I last left them. Other than remembering to exit out of these programs, I was just wondering if there was a way to close anything I may have forgotten to close. Will these open programs slow down my BB if they are not exited out of?

Those items you forgot to close do take memory... So the short answer is, 'yes --particularly if you are using a prog that is memory intensive.'

programs like BB/google maps take up lots of resources...always remember to close your programs it's as simple as menu, scroll, scroll, enter (on close)

also running memory the built in memory cleaner daily/weekly is a good way to make sure you're BB stays fresh

2 is not equal to 3, not even for large values of 2.

if you hold the alt key and press the escape button (to the right of the pearl) it shows you all programs that are running.. but i think the only way to close out of them is to actually go into the running programs and physically close each one

you can keep pressing the escape key to cycle through or use the pearl

To enable the memory cleaner go to options, security options then general settings, then enable the password and enable content protection. Then go back to the security options menu and the memory cleaning option should be there. Hope that helps.

BE careful with content protection on. 2 things will/may happen. Caller id may be interupted occasionally. To help battle this turn the include address book function off under security settings. Also any pictures that you take with the camera will come out as an encrypted file and as of yet i do not think anyone has really figured out how to get it back. It will actually add a .rem extention to the file name. Just a heads up.
