    No Call Log

    Hi everyone,
My pearl 8110 does not keep a call log. This is my second one, the first died for some unknown reason. When I pressed the green call button on my last pearl it gave me a convienent call log of who I called and who called me. This new handset keeps a log for about a minute or so then it vanishes.
    Can anyone help?

How's the memory on your device? Do you regularly to memory cleaning? Do you store a lot of e-mails, pictures, etc on your device?

Go to Options>Status and tell us what the number is for File Free.

    Thanks,
    Roger

Yikes! That's your problem then. Your device will attempt to delete things in order to free up memory for itself.

Do you run 3rd party apps? You need to free up some space. Here's a good place to start:

click green call button once (don't hold)
    press berry sign
    click "options"
    click "call logging"
    click "all calls"

    if that doesnt work:

click green call button once (don't hold)
    press berry sign
    click "options"
    click "general options"
go to phone list view and select "call log"

Thanks for the assistance, there abonter, but take a closer look at the thread. This person has a more serious issue to contend with.

    Thanks guys,
You were both right, I have deleted loads of rubbish that I never use and freed up a lot of space, I also changed the call log option to all calls, it was set on none.
I'm trying to delete BBSmart, its an email add on that has expired but wont give me the option to delete it, via options, Advanced, Applications or via Desktop Manager

Keep an eye on that call log, though! You can check them all by opening a messages folder, pressing the BB menu button>Options>View Folders.

Thanks for your input on the settings, abonter!

also make sure that when your done using an app that you either use the menu close/exit command or press the back/exit button until they close, otherwise you'll be eating up memory and battery like mad...
Tilt is fun with WM 6.1, but not enough to kill the need for my nw iPhone 3Gs!!!
