i am on T-Mobile v4.2.0.64 and i have no dropped call problems.... i live in Irvine, CA and i used to drop calls left and right when i was with verizon and i hardly got a 3 bar signal, even tho i am only 2 miles from a corporate office . with Tmobile, i have not had anyyyyy of the problems i have had with Verizon.

i am curious about upgrading OS but at the same time, y mess with a good thing?

i guess if i knew what i was missing i would be more apt to upgrade
If any issues with my themes are found, please inform me so I can fix them :)

What is the deal with dropped calls?

I have had 3 different pearl's with mulitple os variations. I live in the tri-state area(NY,NJ,CT). I have never had a dropped call. I had a few with verizon on the razr... But never with the pearl.

Maybe it is service area that is your problem, not the actual pearl?

Thread renamed. Maybe that will help get some posts in here!

Can anyone confirm the use of a 4gb MicroSD card being able to work on the Pearl, with the new OS?

The MicroSD is really a huge benefit. Then again, I'm one of those people who use it as a phone / email device and have over 850 MB free on a 1GB card, so I guess it's not really a huge deal to me!

Perhaps I should start putting music on here. But then I'd have to find headphones that work, and deal with calls coming in, and well... my iPod does this already.

I'll most likely upgrade anyway just 'cause.
    As always, just my opinion...

Where/how did you find the software improvements of this release. Was it just gathered from comments from this and other forums, or was it in some official release document ?

So some/all of these items listed might not be offically fixed. For example the dropped calls issue might be reported fixed by a few posts, but since this version has only been out a couple of days, this issue has not been accurately tested.

    Sceptic!

I think you are right, ah to be adventurous or conservative. You can always downgrade.

Also my biggest concern is this release is rumored to be from A1 Mobilkom Austria, but the A1 website has an older version

I'm hesitant to install the 4.2.1.101 version because it's not on any official Blackberry or carrier website. I don't want to take the chance this software has been modified in some hidden and evil way.

Just upgraded and everything appears to work except for Yahoo2Go and Google Maps. They both crash with a controlled access exception error. I did some searching and found that it might have something to do with being on a BES. Not sure if others are seeing this issue.
