I have used various models of phones: V3, V3I, KRZR, Blade (L6), SE Z520, SE W300, Nokia 6103 (only one that had terrible dropped calls), BB 7130, BB 7100 (7130 was better reception wise) and now the Pearl! Besides the Nokia the Pearl has had the most dropped calls. Definately not a network issue!
I don't have any dropped call issues with my Pearl.

My husband had a Razr as does my brother, they're junk that breaks with any fall...my brother has to use his through his job and hates it because it breaks so much. I have dropped my pearl numerous times and it's right as rain!

You can use any OS with your pearl. I have a pearl through Tmobile who has yet to put out a new OS and I've downloaded 4 OS's since February when I first got my pearl and have no issues using them on my phone (other than the individual issues with the specific OS.)

Yes its safe to upgrade your tmobile pearl. voids the warranty but they rarely check for things of that nature when u do a warranty upgrade. unless you get some anal retentive tech.

this os runs fast but i've literally over 8 dropped calls in the past 24 hours that i've had it.. i like that its fast and all but i'd rather have it be slower with no dropped calls than faster with dropped calls..

Actually i've found less dropped calls. It's not a complete fix but i see a marked improvement.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....I THOUGHT this OS was working fine but for some reason for the last few nights my Pearl has been a cycle of shutting off and back on. May have to wipe and reload the OS.

Also need a link for the JL Wipe software.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~all of my problems with dropped calls. Went away when i installed this os! My only problem with this os is that my battery drains a lot faster than any other os i have had in the past.

Re: New Pearl OS: 4.2.1.101 Multi-Language

I don't get this dropped call thing. I didn't have this problem on ANY OS until .101, then I backed down to 0.73 and still had it, even though I didn't the first time around with that OS (!!). It finally has gone away with ol' tmo .064
Maybe these OS installs are touchier than I thought. Maybe I'll try it again and see if the problem returns. Just out of curiosity.
