I'm new to the Blackberry and i've learned alot thanks to everyone on the fourm.

    Here is my question

After receiving a new text message, email, missed call, etc., the red indicator light comes on for a very short time. Is there a way to make it stay on until the message is read? it only flashes red for 15 min. or so.

    Thanks in Advance

    Jupiter, Welcome to PinStack.

No one has found a way around this. I guess RIM thinks that if you are away from or don't look at you BB for more than 15 minutes, you don't care about knowing about your missed message.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

Thanks for the quick response Rcbjr!

I was afraid of that. I went through every setting I could find with no luck.

    Thanks cp6169

    Jupiter,

I found that frustrating as well. I purchased a 3rd party app (blackberry alrerts) and am very happy with it. You can set the LED for different colors (purple=email, blue=missed calls, etc.) and it will remain lit until you read or look at them. Audion alert options too. Well worth the $10.

    Thanks for the Info air4ce1.

This is a must have. It is worth $10 for me!

Too bad the 8100 doesn't come standard with this BASIC function.

i agree....blackberry alerts is definitely worth the $10!!! gives you way more options with the lights that RIM for some reason doesn't give you.

I downloaded "Backberry Alerts" and had a chance to play with the settings. This is exactly what I was looking for.

    Thanks Everyone!
