As Red says guys, THIS OS IS NOT FOR THE 8100! it will only work for the 8130. Don't try to install on your 8100 or you'll end up with a pretty little brick.

I just wanted to make sure you are installing this on a Verizon 8130 and not an AT&T 8310 like your profile says.

Just had a buddy I work with, brick'd his Pearl yesterday with the 4.3 OS. He decided he was too good to read the other thread about the OS on the Pearls and installed it anyway (and tried to mod so of the .cod files and the blackberry.alx file, to his liking). He comes into work asking me how do I fix his BB. After telling him the steps I asked him if he read the thread and he just smiles and shook his head 'no'.

As it has been said before, the OS is not intended for 8100 Pearls.

Vendor themes definitely aren't good news with this thing I may have to fully reinstall (of course, I ran a backup before I started!)

Yeah....I spent the better part of this morning, and the later part of last night trying to get the Vendor Themes to play nice. But I had the "app error 523" come up every few minutes. Or even when I just did something the phone didn't like. Not really sure what the deal was, maybe just an early 4.3.0 OS bug. I just don't imagine RIM putting something in place so that we can't enjoy the other themes. I just hope there is a solution soon. I got a chance to look at what's new!

Sprint is in there, nothing special regular BB icons with one unique one for Entertainment. Orange had two themes this time, one zen and the other today. Different backgrounds than before, and maybe some slightly different icons but over all looks pretty cool (being orange and all). The only other change I was able to see was from Vodafone. They had the same theme twice but the new one is white, and apparently the older one green.

You can successfully use javaloader.exe to install/remove the .cod files. I tried that this morning with Orange Today (vendor 119) and both of the Vodafone today themes. The text on the Vodafone themes is a bit ugly though, at least where it displays 1X/1XEV. Vodafone Green certainly looks better than the other Vodafone theme (the light colours just don't do it for me). I couldn't get Orange Today to work, though

Does anyone know of a today theme, besides Vodafones, which separates email from sms/mms? I've been using the bphone today theme, which is drop dead gorgeous, but it lumps email and sms/mms together on the home screen (I know how to separate them in the app list, though).

Who wants to give me $16.43 to attempt to shoehorn the 8130 OS onto my 8100?

We can all take bets as to whether I'll brick my Pearl 1.0.

(i am so kidding by the way, yet oh so curious at the same time...)

    Doc,

Are you using an 8130 or the 8100 listed in your Profile? If the latter and you are using the OS Listed with it, you might want to update to the latest TMO 8100 OS. It will allow you to set the Message Separation feature in almost any theme from the Messages/Options/General Options/SMS and Email Boxes. IF you are on an 8130 now, I would expect that it also has that feature.

If you mean to load 3rd party apps. Theirs a file called devices.xml is the 8130 listed in that if not then thats why you cane dit it but not sure exactly what info you would put. If you mean the app loader doesnt show the device Os, then you need to delete vendor.xml

Does the 8130 do streaming video? Like youtube! I thought I had heard that it did but when I called vzw they didn't know what I was talking about.
