New 4.6 Feature "Safe Mode"
Not exactly new news but I stumbled on this little piece of hidden info on CIO.com while playing around with my new 8220 with the 4.6 Operating System (actually I was looking for ways to improve the browser views UGH!)....Seems that Blackberry has taken a page from Windows and added a cool new Safe Mode feature that should prove very useful for troubleshooting...
"Safe Mode is meant to help pinpoint and delete bum apps that may have caused your smartphone to crash. Accessing Safe Mode is simple: First you need to remove your BlackBerry battery to perform a hard reset. After reinserting the battery, the BlackBerry notification LED glows red for a few seconds. Immediately after the LED dims, hold the BlackBerry Escape key—to the right of the trackball—until a dialogue box appears to let you know the device is running in Safe Mode. The reboot process can take a few minutes, so be patient.
To exit Safe Mode, simply perform another hard reset by removing and reinstalling your battery."
So does the usual home screen appear or some stripped down version? Or is it just a list of apps/modules?
I have a BlackBerry and a WhiteApple. :)
This is an 8220 screen on Safe mode. I have to admit I have not had the chance to play with this yet....
