I had that problem until I rebooted and removed the vendoer.xml file. My suggested would be to do a full system search and make absolutely certain it is not there.

I have always installed the file(new OS) then searched and deleted the VENDOR.ALX file then opened my DM hit application loader after it does it first cycle it should say you have updates for your handheld. It takes about 20-30 minutes for it to wipe and reload the new OS onto your BB

Ahhh.... I was deleting the Vendor.xml file I had on the system and then running the install, and then running DM.

I ran the install, deleted the vendor.xml and then ran DM and it wants to update now.

    Thanks,

Worked fine for me...fixed the trackball/ringer "issue" (didn't really bother me) but I lost a lot of my settings - wap, games needed to be re-registered, BBweather had to be reconfigured, etc. No biggie.

one thing i noticed after the upgrade was that you can no longer press the end button to exit an application.

i know that that sounds absolute, and it definitely seems like it is, but i did notice that every once in a while i would press that button and i would be able to exit the app.

i guess it is better that way though because now you actually have to close the app, and that does cause less stress on the phone....

still wish there were more themes....

Well, after a long fight with my Pearl, I finally got the update (had to go to T-Mobile for the update - Jolly Rogers didn't seem to do it for me). Seems to working fine so far. Just need to figure out how to encode video and I'll be off to the races (I know, prolly a different forum for that one ).

I didn't see any update on http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade. Someone had posted here that they got the upgrade from T-Mobile. I'm going to try to use the Roger's upgrade and see if I can find the vendor.xml file, so that I can delete it and then install on my BB.

It surely does take awhile for this to download. I'm using a highspeed connection. I hate to see what the download time would be otherwise. Sheesh...

I found the vendor.xml file by just doing a search of my c drive and I deleted it and was able to load the update.

Oops, dial up is no fun, the rogers OS does enable the use of a 2Gig micro however its actually not the newest OS update, AT&T released 4.2.1.96 a few wees ago and worked out a few of the bugs found in this Rogers,

just wanted to make sure you got the newest os out if youre going to spend 14 hours downloading it. hopefully you see this before you hit the sack

and welcome to the stacks, best of luck with the pearl
