Someone on the AT&T forum posted a question about A2DP support for the Pearls.

Found this link on RIM, indicates that there is a 4.2.2 OS that supports A2DP. Anyone else heard anything about this?

The curve uses 4.2.2 and has A2DP support. Does the article you link specifically address the Pearl? (Can't get the link from my Curve, no iFrame support).

It is probably for BB 8830 and BB 8300 (Curve).

Here is the text from the page:
    Problem

A Bluetooth Stereo Headset is able to successfully pair with the BlackBerry Pearl smartphone. However, the music audio is unable to be heard on the headset. Instead, the music comes out via the speakerphone.

    Cause

The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 smartphone is running BlackBerry Device Software version 4.2.1 or earlier. The Bluetooth Stereo Audio Profile is not supported in BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 and earlier.

    Resolution

Upgrade the BlackBerry 8100 Pearl smartphone to BlackBerry Device Software version 4.2.2 or later. Refer to KB03621.

I have the 8800 and am encountering the same problem. Can I upgrade the OS on the handheld to get my bluetooth stereo headset to work with the media player?
    Thanks!

Right now 4.2.2 and A2DP appears to only be available on the 8300 platform.

... -_-... I dare say, maybe it's a sick joke. A rogue programmer that wants to give false hope to the populus...

    ...or maybe not.
