    4. Remove the battery from your device
    5. Connect the device to the computer
    6. You need to be fast here, but once the LED indicator lights up and before the device starts, click on Add / Remove Programs
    7. DM should say Unrecognized PIN, click Next and the OS should then install.

    Just skip step 1.

I'm done with the download. But after reading this, I'm confused with step #6. Where do I find the add/remove programs? I'm not seeing that option anywhere. Sorry for my ignorance.

Do you have Desktop Manager on your PC? If so, which version? I apologize. I should've asked you this question before. I'm running 4.6, so I based my instructions on that.

Once I click on the application loader, I get a Welcome to the application loader wizard. And the option to click next or cancel. If I click next, I get another screen that says: Select the communication port to which your device is connected, or check the "Detect" box to scan for the port automatically.

    What should I do there?

Let's try the checkbox route first.

Insert it now, being careful not to bump the cable.

Ok, it's installing the applications now. Does that mean that I did this correctly?

Thanks. It's done with the installing of the apps. But now I've got the hour glass on the screen and it won't go away. What do I do now?

Be patient. This is the longest part of an upgrade right here.
