I purchased my phone about a week ago, loaded a couple of apps including google map, 411, etc... and now my phone is slow and appears to be locked.

    welcome Mark!

    locked how?

there's several options you have. you can do a couple things to clear up some memory, or you can upgrade your OS and clean up some things.

what all apps have you loaded by the way?

Yea, I would say change the picture memory down and go through and delete some of the preloaded media and languages you won't use. That should clean up the memory for you.

    Here are a few tips:

    1. Add a micro SC card for media. Keep photos and music on the card.
    2. Options>Applications : delete un-used languages
    3. Use the above or the App Loaded in Desktop Manager to remove any applications you added but dont like or plan to use. Also if you have installed new themes some of them take lots of room.

After all of this pull your battery and leave it out for at lead 60 seconds.

Now go to Options>Status and check your File Free space.

as Gary mak4 mentioned all are great ideas. you can also delete your event log (alt LGLG, for pearl) and also use memory cleaner under options --> security --> general settings --> contentp protection (enable), enable password, exit out of all that back to options page, then go back to security and click memory cleaner --> then desktop icon to on, go back to home screen and click on memory cleaner and let it do it's magic, then go back to general settings under security and turn off content protection (unless you want to keep pw protection on).

How do you delete thing from the application list?

Also my application list is in
    Options > advanced > applications

But I cant figure out how to delete anything in there, nor can I see any "language packs"

The languages should be in there, thats where mine were. To delete just highlight what you want to delete and hit menu(the button on the left of the pearl) and delete..

    Re: My Pearl is SLOW

You should see a bunch of different languages such as
    "Spanish
    Medical Terms
    Legal Terms
    Financial Terms
    German
    Medical Terms
    Legal Terms
    Financial Terms"
These are ok to delete, unless you want that particular language..

Might want to double check you're using the same OS, that can make a difference on your available options.

Dont forget to do the hard reset (battery pull) every so often...you will be surprised how much memory that will free up (the fabled pearl memory leak in action!)
