My Pearl is running SLOWWW
For some reason, my Pearl has started running very slowly. I haven't added any applications lately. In fact, I have deleted almost all of them besides the originals and one or two more. I have also deleted all of my texts and emails and moved all my media files to my 2GB Micro.
Still, my screen will freeze up, it will take ridiculously long for a text message to send, etc.
Anybody have any ideas of what else I could clear off or anything I can do to speed up my BB's processing?
What firmware version are you running?
I'm running 184.108.40.206 and it has a tendency of freezing on me when it I go to view my missed calls.... kinda bullshit. I think it's 4.5 that messed it up.
I am running 220.127.116.11 but I have the same problem on occasion. I also have a glitch that occurs sometimes when I push the send button to pull up my calls list, it will lock the keypad...very weird
You can do a battery pull and clear logs and browser cache. Have you tried options/security/memory cleaning?
My wife was having that issue with her curve. Does the memory cleaning work for those too?
You can wipe your handheld clean! Go to options -> general settings -> scroll all the way down to "secure gc enabled"-> wipe handheld. You will keep everything except your address book. So backup your blackberry! Good luck! It should run much faster!!
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ how much memory do you have left? Do a hard reboot.(Battery pull)
Hopefully that helps
Yes a good ol' battery pull usually does the trick. And like mentioned before clean out your browser cache by opening your browser> press menu> options> cache operations. Also make sure you have your java script set to prompt. That can cause it to run slow as well. You might consider upgrading to 4.5 os. I think your profile says you have verizon and they just released there offical 4.5 os. Good luck!~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
