Updated above post.... BlackBerry Pearl forum
That's great info Bluebell Wood. All help is much appreciated.
One and final question, what applications do you recommend is a must for the Pearl 8100?

If you manage to unlock your Pearl, put latest OS on it (currently 220.127.116.11) or at least 18.104.22.168. Link is here (Rogers) http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...f_29jan08.html
Then you should be able to use any SIM, and make contract for BB data transfers.
Upgrade of OS might even remove brand logo on startup.
My company recently switched from T-Mo to VIP (Vodafone partner), so (legal) unlocking does NOT harm OS, phonebook or other contents on Pearl. However, I'd remove memory card before unlocking...
In space no one can hear you scream.

If I update Vodafone OS to latest o2 version by deleting the Vendor.xml file, Can I still use my current Vodafone simcard as its still locked to that network while I'm waiting for the NUC so I will then be able to use my preferred o2 Simcard.

Please to say that I have received my NUC this morning and now works with my o2 Simcard. All I need now is to activate o2 Blackberry Services.
