    Question music player problem

I have a problem with the pearl's player. I put a song on and it skips parts of it so it is like a quick review- plays 2-4 sec of the beggining, skips 5 secs, plays 1-2 secs again and same on. Every time I have to do a hard reset to make it work fine but after 2-3 songs it starts again. Any suggestion? Thanks

    Re: music player problem

Is it with every song or just a particular one?

Is it not recognizing the mp3 songs from the day you bought the device? Did you try to reboot it? An other way is to erase all the programs and reload them again from device manager. (Do not forget to back up all your data)

As far as recognizing the songs go, if you are using a media card, make sure they are in the blackberry/media/songs folder or whatever it is.

I have just downloaded a couple hundred music files to my iBook to my SD card. The file names are preceeded by an underscore character. When I select one of these files it brings up the player screen, but doesn't show the song title or play the song. Any suggestions?

The tags are probably messed up and that's why it won't show the title/artist correctly. As for why it won't play they could be the wrong format or they could be protected. Where'd you get the songs from?
    BB Pearl, Seidio rubberized case.

Tags should not matter, the Media Player not seem to grab them. I simply pushed some mp3 on my SD card and the player recognized them with ease.

Maybe you should check if the files realy have the .mp3 extention...

Are these in the correct format for the Pearl? Is the Undescore in front og the name there on your iBook?

    Re: music player problem

First of all, I appologize for hijacking this thread, but it could be pertinent to music player problems so...

I scrolled down the list of songs and after the list with the underscore character, were all of my files and they played fine, displayed fine and all seems OK. I don't know if I should delete the other files, but now that I know my files are there, I can experiment a little. Thanks for your thoughts.

    Re: music player problem

Well, if you still have them on your iBook, I would delete few of the underscore ones and see what effect it has on the normal ones.
