Multi tap issue on new OS update

Hello stackers, I posed this comment earlier and received no help or input at all...surely someone else has noticed this?

Just updated to new OS .101 last nite....so far so good. Except i have noticed a problem when typing a sms or email message. I absolutely cannot stand suretype, because i have always done multi tap and am quite familiar with it.Well when i get goin on a message the keys get kind of messed up, and i personally think it has something to do with the cursor. It's like, if when typing, and i want to use the 2nd letter located on they key, sometimes, more than most it doesnt jump to that specific letter. Say its key 2 (TY) if i went to type the word "why" it will punch in "whtt" rather than the letter Y.
Anyone else have this issue? I know most stackers like suretype, but i just cant do it. And i never once had this issue on my previous OS .71 from Cingy. I txt quite a bit, and cannot stand having to always hit the delete key and go back and edit my txts.Anyone have any ideas? Please?

I recommend going with the Curve 8300, the 8300 or the 8700. I hate multitap and I hate suretype. The full keyboard is wonderful.

I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

I think it's a bug, I discovered the same thing a few days ago when I upgraded as well. You can set the keystroke to slow and that helps a bit.. or you can downgrade your OS.

Yea, i would go with the curve, but i just purchased my pearl in feb, and i still love it as much as day one....while the curve sounds great and looks very intiscing, i dont have the almost $400 to fork out for it. Im going on vacation to te jas in a couple days.

I really dont want to downgrade, becaus ei love the performance on the new OS...how do i change the keystroke MrsKL? im assuming its under my options...i'll check it out. did you change yours and to what?

Yeah, it was the key rate (sorry, dumb job preventing me from checking back) I set mine to slow and it imporved (but didn't fix) I haven't had the chance to look for any patches and such to fix it...

Edit: Points for the yankee icon too.. spent the whole day with a Sox fan yesterday (showiing her 'round the city..)

The same thing happened to me after downloading a new OS.
I cant do SureType, and I find it so annoying to go back and erase.
    Ughhhh!!
    Did you solve your problem?

Re: Multi tap issue on new OS update

If you give SureType 1 or 2 days, (less if you use the phone often) I can assure you that you'll get the hang of it. I was a confirmed multi-tapper until my Pearl. I can type as fast now with SureType as I ever was able to with Multi-Tap. This thread is a couple of weeks old, the OP may not realize you posted a question to him. For a day or two, anyway.

Thanks for the reply in my thread =]
Well I guess our only solution is to use SureType,
although I've tried using and there's no way it works for me =/
    Awww lol
