    Modifying 8100 theme -Vodafone

    Hi everyone

Any suggestions on how to modify the theme on my 8100? Its with Vodafone in Australia and the issue is the menu icons are in a pretty poor config, so I am hoping to add/remove a few icons to the home screen.

Just got the fone today, so far, this thing rocks!!!

    Thanks
    Mike

    Welcome to PinStack

I guess the onyl way to add new icons is to install new applications lol but if you want to move or hide your current appl's then if you're usin "dimension icon theme" select the icon and hit the menu btn, then either hide it or move it. If you are using some like a "Zen theme" then scroll all the way down to "organize applications"

Glad you've got that phone lml = it rocks lol

    Thanks for the reply

I am using BB Dimension Zen theme, however I dont have any "Organise Applications" icon and when I do click on one of the icons and hit the menum it launches the app.

I wanted to get rid of the Setup Wizard from the home screen and add the Address book back there. that was the plan anyway !

    Thanks
    Mike

From the main screen, click the menu button. With all of your apps on the screen, click menu on the one you want to move. Organize your favorites to the top five on the menu screen.

Now when you go back to the main screen, it should show the five you put on the top of your menu screen...

Go to mobile.blackberry.com from your pearl' browser. Just download them and it will install them on its own. U can then find them on options/theme. So far there is no other way to download them on your pc and then install them from there.

    nismor33, Welcome to PinStack.

With the Zen theme there should be a menu option for Configure Applications or Configure Home Screen. Then you want to move the Applications you want on the home Screen to the first 5 spots on the list. All others will be listed on the menu when you click on the bottom Icon.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

    Re: Modifying 8100 theme -Vodafone

    Thanks everyone for your help!

    All fixed now.

As mentioned previsouly, I clicked on the menu button from the home screen, then clicked on menu again and was able to move the icons around from the applications screen.

I got rid of the setup wizard and brought in the address book.

Now to learn the other features.

    Thanks again!!!

    Regards
    Mike

Go to Options>Themes>hit menu and select "download themes" and it will take you to the theme download page for www.mobile.blackberry.com

Or when you visit www.mobile.blackberry.com on the home page click "Downloads" then click "Free Themes" under Personalization.

For the 71xx themes No you can not load those on the pearl, even if you load them they wont work.

That's what I did (Go to Options>Themes>hit menu and select "download themes") and it shows media home page for cingular. I tried to go directly to mobile.blackberry.com but it shows up a help window like you go from regular computer browser. Is any way I can change a download link back to this site? Thanks.

diemon, go to Option/Advanced Options/Browser and set Default Browser Configuration to Internet. Now try going to the mobile.blackberry.com site and see what you get.

Login to your BIS account from your PC, go to Options or Profile look for the button that says Send Internet Service Book and click on that.

If that doesn't work, then you need to call Cingular Customer Care, ask for the BlackBerry data support and ask that they review your account. Tell them that you don't have the Internet Browser.
