While performing the backup, it gets to the Profiles section and pauses. Then the message appears. I hit OK and it appears to backup the remaining databases. BUT, it never gets saved in a file.

    Rob...
    Glad your up and running...
I have seen this issue with contacts or calender entries with some charecter that the system did not understand. Did a quick search and your problem sounds a lot like this recent thread...I am going to suggest you give a try to these solutions in hopes that this will fix your problem! Post back your results here so we know if you got it resolved!

    Re: Missing vendor.xml file

The thread helped. I'm up, running and able to back up correctly. It definitely was something with my Profiles. Ironically, I'm also a SimulSays user (not sure if that had anything to do with it). At the Backup and Restore screen, I "Cleared" my profiles and was then able to back up normally. After the backup was complete, I had to input my own custom profile settings back into my device - only took a few minutes.

Thanks to GaryF, Cherri and Reddog for all their help!!!

However, the title to my original post (Missing vendor.xml file) might be misleading to other Stackers. That was my original problem, which turned into the whole Backup issue. You guys were able to resolve the backup issue for me - the vendor.xml issue was kinda/sorta fixed, by reinstalling the original OS.
