Welcome to pinstack.com. Did you try this:
I try to format the sd card using the BB format option in advance menu, but no way. when I connect the BB to PC no disk are available. (see attached image).
I try using the microsd included in the BB and using another sd (1GB).
any help will be appreciate, many Thanks,
Hi hayden thank you for your answer, yes I tried but no way.
In the BB the format option says that the cards (128mb and 1gb I have to microsd) are not available, and using the usb connection explorer ask to insert the disk into the BB microsd reader.
If I use a card reader the format process working fine but the bb dosn't recognize the memory.....
io, who is the maker of your sd card? there was a conversation a few weeks back that a poster was having issues with a certain manufacturer's card...can't remember which one. I have the SanDisk and it has never asked me to 'format'. can you take it back to where you bought it and exchange it?
sandisk both, one is the original in the BB's pack
when I browse via explorer I see the "removable disk f:" but when I try to access I receive the message "Please insert disk into drive f:"
can anyone help? pleassssseeee.
All help is much appreciated
Maybe when formatting the card in the card reader you chose incorrect file system format and that is why the BB does not recognize the card now?Originally Posted by io66
Maybe you need to reformat the card in the card reader again using FAT?

Does the 8100 Pearl support a 2Gb microSD card?
It does with an OS higher than .42. This is the 3rd time in 10 mins I've answered that question.... haha.
I GET THE SAME THINGOriginally Posted by io66
you must enable Media card support from Media card options...and secondly if you are using Mass mode storage than only Removabel Disk F: or any disk that has been created by computer......will open...otherwise it will only say....taht insert media card into Removable disk
i did enable media card support... when i try to format the card in the bb it says "format failed" when i try in the comp through the bb it says "format failed" and it lags my comp out when i try through a usb card reader
1. Is Mass Storage Enabled?
2. Do I understand that you cannot acces the same card on your dektop using a reader (that would make it sound like a bad card).

mass storage is enabled... i would have thought it was the card except i have 2 different 1 gig cards by toshiba and kingston... it detects it but on both the bb and my comp it says format failed
im having the same problem with my new bb, it kept telling me to format the card, but when i tried it said it wasn't able to do so. ive played around with the mass storage setting and its just tells me to turn the mass setting back on. confusing...
