I tried to d/l an OTA theme and got this message: "Insufficient space for application".

    What's up with that? I don't have a million themes, I have a few applications...but I've also got a memory card...any ideas?

    Well...we found the problem.

For the solution go to my Blog and click on "How to free up device memory"....

Thanks for the wild goose chase...didn't really help b/c my problem is kbytes related-not sms/mms/call log deletion.

I'm just gonna have to delete some apps/themes.

Thanks for taking the time to help!

If you show 0 bytes it will not be long till the sms/ call logs delete. Take heed to Gary's suggestions. If you have not pulled the battery in a while do that to replenish the memory but just as good maintenance on the phone thin out as much unneeded apps as you can. It will pay off in the long run.

Sorry for the noob question and I don't mean to hijack, why would you have memory issues with a memory card. Does my BB not start using the memory card for general storage (including apps, messages, etc)?

The media card does not store apps, themes, etc. Only pics, music and ringtones and things that you add directly to it via your PC or Media Manger). Themes, apps, anything used to run the BB directly are stored in device memory. Since there is no real "fix" for this, all we can do is work with the problem as best we can. Freeing up memory like the mentioned in previous post and tutorials is a good way to maximize how much you get to work with, but ultimately you are still going to have to do a battery pull on occasion. I make it a habit of doing a battery pull almost everyday (usually just before bed) and then charging it up anytime it goes below 60% battery life. Just the way I do things, but it does the trick. When I first got my Pearl, it was dropping call logs/msgs/etc. almost daily. By doing a battery pull routinely, I have not had a "memory leak"issue in over a month and a half, so i'm going to stick with my method.

    Hope this helps.
