    Media Problems

I JUST got this blackberry pearl, and I am having a hard time uploading music or ringtones on to the media player. The phone will accept the file from the computer, but then it won't read a WMA or ZIP file. The preloaded media on the is a M4A format, which plays fine.

    Do yall have any suggestion?

Or is there any way I can re format my music from a MP3,WMA or ZIP to a M4A so the phone will read it?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes the Micro card is in and installed.

I figured out how to format songs at a MP3 or WAV, which works now. BUT for some reason every song that I load on the phone is exactly 1 minute long.

    Any more suggestions?

    Re: Media Problems

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com) ~ It appears you are doing an OTA download of the MP3 and then saving it into the ringtone area. The song plays for exactly 59 seconds long plus a 1 second fade to nothing. On my 8700 series phone I have gotten around this by creating a simple web site that hosts my MP3s (freeservers.com). You can then, on your BB, go to that website and download (be prepared to wait a while)/play the song. Once played, click the wheel for the menu and then you can either Save it (if you want to hear 59 seconds plus a 1 second fade), or you can Save Page, then respond Yes to the "Save to message list?" prompt.

To listen to all your songs, go to Messages (your mailbox), click the wheel for the menu, select View Folder, and scroll down to Browser Messages. You will then be presented with a list of all your songs.

There may be a better way on the Pearl but this will work for both the Pearl and the 8700.

you have them encrypted...someone else had this issue.
you have to change that in options/advanced options/media card
    select <none> beside encryption mode.

I took my media card out of my other phone and put it in the Pearl and nothing will show. It shows the card is in but I can't open or view anything. Is it a compatability issue?

    Re: Media Problems

did you use the media manager in desktop manager to transfer the mp3's or did you use the 'mass storage mode' and drag/dropped with windows explorer?

maybe you put them in the wrong folder?
