    Question Mass storage help

I just got a 2GB card for my 8130. I put it in, no problem. I can connect to my PC via USB and open the contents of the card. I would like to move the majority of the ringtones that I have saved to the phone on the memory card. How can I transfer them over to it? I tried to open up media manager but it keeps saying that no device is connected to your computer. However I am able to install apps and such using desktop manager. DM also shows that my phone is connected. What's the issue? I am running DM 4.3 and device manager 4.3

If you have ringtones downloaded to the device memory you can move them through the device itself. You should be able to just go in to ringtones and highlight the one you want to move and bring up the menu and choose the move option and move it to the media card.

If you've enabled Mass Storage on your phone, then Media Manager isn't going to recognize your phone.

Disconnect your phone from the PC, the reconnect it and answer "No" to mass storage. The Media Manager should work just fine now.

    Skip desktop manager all together.

Enable MAss storage mode (set it to yes)

Then plug in BB to PC.

Open the new removable drive (click my computer on PC)
    Open Blackberry folder
    Open Memory Card.
    Open Ringtones folder.

Now open what ever folder you saved the original tones to the BB
    (probably removeable drive>Blackberry>device memory>ringtones

Now drag them to the folder on the memory card.

Also do this to drag and drop files from PC to BB, no need for Desktop MAnager for transferring files

You are correct. What version of desktop manager are you running? I use 4.3 with Roxio Media Manager and I can access my card and my device memory and move data between them. Does Desktop Manager recognize the device?

If he is trying to move stuff from device memory from media card. Then media manager won't do it. This is because on media manager you have to enable mass storage mode to access the media card but disable it to access device memory. Therefore you cannot access them both at once. If Media manager is not seeing the device when you have mass storage mode turned off then there may be a problem with the installation and you may need to uninstall and reinstall DTM. Make sure when you do the unisntall and reinstall you follow the clean uninstall process for roxio on the roxio support site.

But like i said if you just want to move stuff from device memory to media card you can do this right from the device itself.

I can access both from within DM 4.3 / Roxio with Mass Storage Enabled. Here is what it looks like on my desktop.....

I still get nothing. I cannot access my BB from my computer only the memory card, and when it is connected and says it's connected to the computer through DM Media center says it is not. WTF?
