    Mail Account Icons?

I noticed there is a main message mail icon, and then I have a gmail icon. I noticed I get notified at both mail icons. Anyway to hide or disable one or the other, as to not clutter the screen if I add more mail accounts?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~highlite the mail folder, while the cursor is over the mail folder you want to hide, press the alt button then press the scroll. You will be given the option to hide.

On the Pearl, press the menu button and go all the way down. Select "organize apps". Then highlight the icon (mail or program) and press the menu button again. Select "Hide app"

Thanks guys, will try that. But then if I hide my icons, will I still be notified? And would I have to dig in where to retrieve my messages?

    Re: Mail Account Icons?

On the Pearl, I left the main mailbox visible (placed as my first icon) and I access all my accounts on that mailbox. When I respond to an email, the email goes back through the account that it was received from ie gmail, etc.

Right, but lets just say I was to hide all of them. Where could I retrieve messages on the BB, and would I still be notified? Just wondering.

    Re: Mail Account Icons?

I've been having a similar problem with my 7290 BB running 4.1 with the macberry theme. My sent messages are being saved in the main messages folder even though the "hide sent messages" option is selected. Also I get copies of my gmail messages in the main message list. Is that common or is there an option to only have email messages to show up in there designated folder?

    Re: Mail Account Icons?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ocanyc, if you hid all message and mail account icons you would still get the same notification as always(depending on the profile you have enabled). However, to actually view the messages you would have to "un-hide" the icons to select Messages folder, which doesn't really make sense, so I would recommend what LGV posted, and I also do, which is to hide the individual mail account icons but keep the Messages icon visible and easily accessible.

    mosaeus, Welcome to PinStack.

Verify that you have the Hide Sent Messages option set to Yes. or Change it to No, save, exit the options and App, do a Cold Reboot (Battery Out, wait 15-30 sec, Battery Back in), Then repeat to set the option to yes. See if that works.

Ok, doing this will hide Sent Messages from either e-mail accounts (BB or my own Gmail), but is there a way to NOT to recieve the email messages with the text messages? I find it cluttering for everything to be into one. My BB email, business email, and my SMS texts all into one? There has to be a way to split it up... Any suggestions?

    -Thanks in advance
