    Made in Mexico vs. Canada

I ordered the Pearl over the phone last week and the phone arrived without the battery cover locking button. Tmo said they would send out a new phone. During this past week I have been using the phone, but I have had some trouble with certain functions (e-mail/receiving attachments, Bee radio software). I just received the replacement phone and when I was changing the battery, I noticed that the first one was made in Mexico and the replacement was made in Canada. Has anyone noticed if the issues that people are having is happening only on one type of phone, or is it happening to both types?

Wow, i've never heard of that! That is definently not good, and I would cause a ruckus with T-Mobile if I were you!

Whoa, lots of things are Hecho en Mexico (sp), even a Sony TV I had at one time. But your experience caused me to freak out.

I nervously tore off the cover of my 8100 and took a look. Happy Happy Joy Joy, all I saw was "Made in Canada"

    Whew......

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Porbrecito mi. My 7105t says Hecho en Mexico. But the only problem I have had is that I have to pull the batery every two days or so because of a memory leak. Oh well. I love my BB and I am planning on getting the pearl once all the bugs have been worked out.

I wouldn't buy a BlackBerry if it isn't Made in Canada. I just couldn't live with myself!

Lewis, How would you know before it came, unless you buy in the store and inspect it before purchase. I know that RIM has at least two production locations, and it wouldn't surprise me to find that there are others.

Honestly, I wouldn't want one made in Mexico either, but I know that thinking that is wrong. Just saying, this thread is a little rude in tone and could offend some folks.

I only say what I said because I'm also made in Canada.

If I wanted something that would break down and fall well below my expectations, I'd buy "made in USA".

Goods manufactured under licence from a parent company should reach the same exacting standards as those made in the originating country. As Rcbjr rightly points out would you inspect and reject if made in a 'foreign' country?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i work for a company that makes ATM machines for the entire world & not all of them are made in the USA but all of them are made with the exact same specs. That's why they are the # 1 ATM producer in the world. It's not where a good product is made it's how well it's made.
