    LED Issue.. annoying!

    Hmm

So last night I downloaded the new themes from the mobile.blackberry.com site. Now all of a sudden my green LED is staying on full time. If I do a restart it will stop, then something will trigger it. I like having it on flashing so I dont want to just turn it off.

Anyone know why this is happening?

I'm using a rogers 8100 and its less then 2 weeks old.

    Cheers!

    Dabum, Welcome to PinStack.

By a restart, do you mean the Battery out, battery back in? Have you tried to delete the themes and see if that takes care of it? If it doesn't, maybe an OS reinstall will. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

    Dabum,

Go to options/screen & keyboard and turn off off the LED coverage indicator.

    Enjoy

    Hey,

    Thanks for the replies.

I did do the battery out/back in reboot, this fixed it.. for a short time. It seems to happen when I get a phone call.

It also fixes it when you goto options/screen keyboard LED indicator.. again for a short time then it comes back..

And I'd turn the indicator off but... I rather like it

I hope its not something to do with the leather holster/case I bought, maybe the magnet is messing something up? This is only started happening after having the case for 2 days... and it hasnt happened before.

For the record it is a blackberry case not some aftermarket one.

    Cheers.

The case magnet shouldn't have anything to do with this problem. As I said, An OS re-install might take care of this problem if it really bothers you. Does an Hot Reboot (ALT+CAP+DEL) also fix this problem.

    Dabum,

When you get a call/message etc ... is the LED that is flashing Green or Red? If its red then you have Repeat Notification set to LED Flashing under in the profile you are using. Note there are a variety of options under profiles i.e. Calendar, Browser, Messages, Phones etc .... make sure you check all of them to make sure (that is if you want notification off).

    Hey Rcb,

    Thanks for the reply.

Does the hot reboot wipe my pearl clear? (ie master reset)? if so, this is not really an option..

No, not at all, It doesn't even do as much as a Cold Reboot (Battery Removal). It's just a little quicker and I was curious if it would clear the Solid LED for a while. If it doesn't it might be time for an OS reload.

And it will really help us help you if you take the time to fill in your PinStack Profile with the information concerning your device. Model, OS and Platform (Found on Options/About), BES Status, Location, and Carrier. Depending on the question, each of these may have an impact on how we respond.

I know you have a Pearl as you posted it in the Pearl Forum, but you might forget to include this info in the future, when posting in a different Forum.

    Hey,

    Public profile filled.

As for the hot reboot, I tried doing this and nothing happened (as in no re-boot)

    Hmm

Thanks for filling in your profile. Now when you say no re-boot, it didn't do anything? Or did it just shut down and restart? Did you hold all three at the same time, not one after the other?

I don't understand why the Alt+Cap+Del didn't reboot, but glad you got it working.
