    LED as flash light?

I had a Nokia a while back that I could turn on a LED flash light on the bottom of the phone.

When I downloaded the BB alerts for my 8100 and ran through the LED test, it turns on about 6 different colors. These would be great as a flash light!

Does anyone know how to manully turn on the LED? It sure would be helpful.

So you are wanting to change it so that it constantly stays on?

I would like to find a way to change the green led to blue, and the bluetooth led to green. I know kind of off topic, but berry alerts, do you like it?

I guess what I am looking for is a way to turn it on, maybe for 5-10 seconds. So I can find something in the dark, not trip over stuff, etc. I found the LED flash light on the Nokia I had very useful, then I got a Razr, which just looked pretty and did nothing.

I am very thankful to have found BB! I had been waiting for a BB that was small enough to through in my pocket, and about the same time my contract came up, the Pearl came out! I bought two of them, one for the wife and one for me. We both absolutely love them!!!

well, with my 8700, in a dark room, if I put it the screen on Max, with a white screen (clean WAP site with Background Images turned off), it will light up enough so I don't trip over something.

    hope this helps

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ lee_harvey, don't worry about being new, I just found this site about a week ago! The program that let's you control the LED is found at www.handango.com I believe it's called BlackBerry Alerts. You can try it before you buy it, if you like it, it's 10 bucks.

Check out BlinkBerry from http://www.greentechmobile.com. It has a "FlashLight" mode.

    DiRN,

That's exactly what I was looking for! Now I wonder if there is a way to program a shortcut key to turn it on and off???
